We've been working together for over 24 years. Together, we built a successful web design and development agency — which we then used as a launchpad for our online time tracking and task management software, Intervals. As different as each of us may seem, we share a common passion for technology and the creative process. In other words, we like to build stuff.
Michael is the chief strategist behind Intervals. Michael’s love of small businesses and 20+ years of experience managing hundreds of web and IT projects serve him well as our technical product manager and team leader.
Michael holds a BA degree in Economics from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California, with a second major in Social Science with an emphasis in History. Michael loves mixing data with gut instincts and takes an analytical approach to decision making — whether that's drafting a top performing fantasy football team or planning out the Intervals feature roadmap.
Michael also happens to be a former basketball player (for Westmont of course), an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, a technology tinkerer, and the proud owner of a souped-up 1990 Vanagon Carat, which we all know as the ‘Capsule of Fun.’ Michael affectionately calls her Katarina.
John began his post-college career as a graphic designer, but soon realized his passion was in software development. Today, he does both web design and software development, while also pursuing his newfound love for Linux system administration.
Ask him and John will tell you he just likes to build things. We think it might have something to do with the box of Lego bricks tucked under his desk.
John holds a BS in Graphic Design and a minor in Computer Science from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. When he’s not working you'll find John at home with his wife and two boys, or pedaling around town on his bike.
Jaime Prado has been a web developer since long before formal academic web technology degrees were offered. He is a self-taught programmer, supported and encouraged by his family, with a genuine passion for building things with code. After 26 years developing both front-end and back-end web applications, he has a thorough understanding of what makes a web site tick. Jaime holds an AA in Computer Aided Design from Santa Barbara City College.
Jaime is a cyclist and a runner. Jaime also likes to attend random and obscure festivals. He's been to Renaissance faires, pirate parades, and chili cook-offs, on both coasts. He also loves to spend time with his parents in Mexico.
Although she has a B.A. degree in Deaf Education, Jennifer found her true passion in software development when she began working in Quality Assurance for a local software company. Her technical skills grew, but her natural ability to get the most out of individuals and team members is what propelled her career in software. Over the past 10 years, her focus had been on building a start-up company from the ground floor to profitability. She even got to be at the ringing of the bell when her company went public. Exciting!
Jennifer is one of those rare people who understands both humans and computers, and has used this ability to build effective, efficient, and happy engineering teams. She's now using her talents to help grow Intervals from a profitable company into the most recognized time tracking and task management software for agencies worldwide. All while maintaining a company culture focused on individuals and how their interactions contribute to making a successful team.
